Something I read

something I read “Not Without my Daughter.”

I left off on Not Without my Daughter when they got out of the car and got on horseback so  they wouldn't get caught. Their journey begins their journey on horseback they stumble through the rocks and snow all just for freedom. seeking freedom from iran  is a very hard fight because of all the checkpoints and officers they have to get past. Also they must travel across high mountains with extremely cold weather. But after their long horse ride they finally they reach a bus .They spend 32 hours on a bus, after riding the bus they arrive in Ankara which has taken them a whole week to get there since the journey began. Betty finds a hotel and they wait there for there last step to freedom which is the American Embassy. They get to the hotel but their passports are not in order, no visas or border stamps. The hotel clerk does not tolerate it and keeps threatening to report them to the police. Betty begs him to contact the Embassy at three a.m. There was a Marine on duty but refuses to help and urges them to see the police. Betty persuades the clerk to call her mother and her mom contacts the State Department in Washington so they could verify the information. When they reach the Embassy Betty fears that they want have all the information verified and they will be sent to the police. But when they get to the Embassy everything is taken care of and they are safe at last. Within the same day they are  on a plane back home to safety. Betty and her daughter have safely made it out of Iran.
