Persuasive

Two stroke over four stroke?. Ever since four stroke dirt bikes have become competitive with the two strokes people have been arguing which one is faster and just all around
better. A two stroke is a bike where there is an explosion in the motor every two times the piston goes down and up and a four stroke is every four times. so lets compare them.

what is the horsepower difference?
The first difference between the Yamaha four stroke dirt bike and the two stroke
is that the 4 stroke 250 produces 8500 rpm and 36 horsepower. The 2
stroke 250 makes about 46 horsepower at 11,300rpms. That’s a 10
horsepower advantage. The difference between the KTM 250sx two stroke produces around 49.77 horsepower. The KTM 250 four strokes make about 35.5 horsepower. So the 2 stroke has 13.22 more horsepower. So no matter what brand of bike you get the 2 stroke is going to have more horsepower which leads to faster lap times.

Horsepower doesn't matter if you don't have good torque so the torque comparison is:
The KTM 250 four stroke has 19.42 foot pounds of torque at 8600 rpm. While that is good torque the KTM 250 two strokes crushes it with 31.93 foot pounds of
torque at 8000 rpm. The KTM two strokes has way more than the four stroke. But its not the only brand were the 2 stroke has more horsepower the Yamaha 2 stroke has 30.6 foot pounds of  torque. The YZ 250 four strokes has about 20.1 foot pounds of torque. The more torque you have the faster your tires spin.

There is also a price difference Both the Yamaha 2 stroke and four stroke have the same retail of $7150 The 2012 KTM 250 two stroke is $800 cheaper than the 2012 KTM 250 four stroke. It retails for around $6899 (MSRP). The 2012 KTM 250 four stroke’s price is $7699

The author of dirt bike magazine said "Privateers could compete at a higher level for a lower cost. Even at the National level, engine mods on a two-stroke top out at around $1000—you can't buy the top-end parts for a four-stroke for that amount. "

Conclusion  My conclusion based on my research is that the 2 stroke is a faster bike. It is also
cheaper bike. So why would you choose something that is more expensive and slower? The only down side to two strokes is that they cause a little more pollution
but it is a lot faster

Something that heppened in class

Something that happened in class

This week in forensic science we have been learning how to collect evidence. We are doing a project where we have to use a microscope to look at hair and try to identify which of the hairs match the one at the crime scene. We do this by magnifying in to where we can see how the hair is made up. We see if it had a medulla and if it is damaged and so on. You can identify hair a lot of different way besides the color. The color is know as class evidence because it can eliminate a group of people but it can not specifically identify a person. If the hair is pulled out there is still tissue on it and you can use DNA analysis but the hair I had wasn't ripped out so it didn't have any tissue on the end so I had to compare the structure of the hair and I believe I found out who the suspect was. In this class I learn a lot about how investigating crimes. But the things you learn in forensics isn't just used in crime scene investigations. In this class you learn a lot about the way your body works and why things happen such as why your hair falls out.

Class

Something that happened in class this week

This past Sunday a guy that I race dirt bikes with died from a wreck. He was riding at Daniels Ridge which isn't far from here. He over jumped a jump and hit his head then he died of internal bleeding. But this affected my Algebra II because I didn't sleep much and I wasn't paying much attention in class because i was so tired. This is probably going to have an affect on my grade because i’m not that sure how to do the things that were doing. The worse part is that we have a test today and i’m pretty sure i'm not going to do well because I tried to do the study guide and I was confused on how to do the stuff. I think algebra I was easy but algebra II is a little harder plus my teacher Ms. Waldrop is very strict. You have to say yes ma’am and no ma’am and she calls me sir which is really annoying because i’m 15 i’m not a sir im still a kid. She gets mad at me all the time because her class is extra boring and I start daydreaming and I stare at the wall. She always says she is going to call my mom and it aggravates me because I don't do anything wrong in her class. If it was more interesting I would pay attention. Plus i'm making a B which is the second highest grade in the class so what can she possibly say? Ma’am your son has the second highest grade and he doers good on his work but he doesn't pay attention in class” I believe that statement contradicts itself.

Bike Maintenance

Bike Maintenance is a very important part of owning a dirt bike. If you
don't take care of your bike it won't run right, and it can lead to
damage which can be costly.

The first obvious thing you want to do is wash it. If you don't wash your
dirt bike it’s like wasting your money because it won't look as good,
but the main reason is that dirt can get in the motor. When dirt gets in
the motor it can destroy your dirt bike. Make sure that you don't get
water in the pipe so when you're washing because that will also mess up
your motor.

You also want to clean the air filter. People buy bikes and think that you
just put gas in them and go, but you often need to clean the air filter
or the motor won't get any air. To do this you can use air filter
cleaner and it gets all the dirt and mud out of it. Then you need to
spray air filter oil on the air filter so that it will catch all the
dirt.

Next you want to change the oil in your dirt bike. If you don't do this it
cannot act as a lube and help the motor run. You should change this
often or it can also destroy your motor. I change the oil in my bike
every 2 weeks, which isn't necessary unless you ride a lot.

If you do these three major things it will extend the life of your dirt
bike. It will also save you money. so follow the tips it will help you!

9/11/01

Something we read in class.
I feel that 9/11 is a very sad event that happened on 9/11/01. It was when four planes were hijacked and two were flew into the world trade center and one was flew into the pentagon. The fourth was believed to be shot down and by the armed forces and everyone was killed in the plane wreck but we can't be sure.  In all there are 2,983, including everyone who died at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon and in the crash of United Airlines Flight 93 in Shanksville, Pa. I think it was better to build a memorial there then to just build something new over it. I believe the fountain works good because it shows water going into what can be called a dark void and dark voids express a sense of loss and grief. It is also a good idea how they have everyone who died on the walls that surrounds the memorial in bronze. It is a beautiful memorial that doesn't take you to the dark place of 9/11 and leave you there.

attack on the World Trade Center,
But ten years later, the newly completed memorial,
the memorial doesn't carry you into a dark place and leave you there,
a 70-ft.-deep concrete "bathtub" scorched by the fires of the attack, ,
dark voids express a sense of loss and grief,
died at the world trade center,
the backdrop of two giant, churning memory machines,
Can these potent excavations that surrounds them ever fulfill their dual mission, as sacred ground?

Current Event

Washington versus New Orleans
Robert Griffin III made his NFL debut on 9-8-12 as the quarterback of the Washington Redskins. They were playing New Orleans and they were expected to be dominated by them. It looked as if Robert Griffin III’s debut was going to be a rough one. Surprisingly he made an amazing debut. He completed 19 out of the 26 passes he threw with no interceptions which is amazing. He had a total of 320 yards passing and and 42 yards running by the end of the game. Growing up Robert Griffin was an amazing track start. His 40 yard dash times were amazing. He won a Heisman trophy and there is no doubt he is a true athlete. But in this article I think they are paying too much attention to just Robert. They refer to him as the “savior” but it takes more than just one person to win a game. If it wasn't for the other players he wouldn't have done good because they wouldn't have been there to catch the ball. I believe he is a great player but they gave him all the credit in which he didn't earn. He got the credit that the whole team earned. But besides that Griffin III done a great job and i’m sure all the fanes of Washington including me are very happy to see them have a good team and do a great job for the first time in a long time
.

Something I read

something I read “Not Without my Daughter.”

I left off on Not Without my Daughter when they got out of the car and got on horseback so  they wouldn't get caught. Their journey begins their journey on horseback they stumble through the rocks and snow all just for freedom. seeking freedom from iran  is a very hard fight because of all the checkpoints and officers they have to get past. Also they must travel across high mountains with extremely cold weather. But after their long horse ride they finally they reach a bus .They spend 32 hours on a bus, after riding the bus they arrive in Ankara which has taken them a whole week to get there since the journey began. Betty finds a hotel and they wait there for there last step to freedom which is the American Embassy. They get to the hotel but their passports are not in order, no visas or border stamps. The hotel clerk does not tolerate it and keeps threatening to report them to the police. Betty begs him to contact the Embassy at three a.m. There was a Marine on duty but refuses to help and urges them to see the police. Betty persuades the clerk to call her mother and her mom contacts the State Department in Washington so they could verify the information. When they reach the Embassy Betty fears that they want have all the information verified and they will be sent to the police. But when they get to the Embassy everything is taken care of and they are safe at last. Within the same day they are  on a plane back home to safety. Betty and her daughter have safely made it out of Iran.

Somethin we read

The Little brown Dog
We read a story called Called the Little Brown Dog. It is a very controversial story. It is about a dog that was abandoned on the side of the road. Then a little boy comes and he messes with the dog in a harsh manner. The dog just lays there and takes it. After the boy is done torturing the dog he goes to walk away but the dog follows him and wines. So the boy brings the dog back to his apartment and they go to the stairs and the dog tries to avoid going up them but the boy drags him. The boy gets in his apartment and then ask his mom if he can keep the dog but she says no. Then his dad steps in and says he can keep the dog because he knew it would make the mom mad. They keep the dog and he soon becomes abused. The father beats him for no reason with objects. Finally the dad has had enough and he grabs the dog and throws him out the window, the impact killed the dog. But why does the dad mistreat the dog? This story is very sad because the things that happened in the story happen in everyday life. The dog didn't do anything to them but yet he was punished and then finally killed. I believe he is an awful father and he is teaching his son bad lessons by abusing the dog. If he does it most likely the boy will do it and he had already done it a little bit. I believe this is an overall good story but it is very sad and it makes you think a lot.

Class

Something that happened in class.

In forensics we had to do a project about crime scene investigation. Everyone in the class got a penny. We had to sketch out or penny. Then we drew out what made our penny unique. For my penny it had a red line above the n on the side that said one. So on my sketch I drew that because I knew it would help me identify which penny was mine when put next to everyone elses penny.. Then next day we came to class our teacher took us outside and lined all of our pennies up side by side and we had to find which one was our. This is where our drawings become helpful. I used my drawing to set my penny aside from the other one but without my paper I would have never found it. This showed us how important it was for investigators to collect evidence. Without evidence it makes it hard to figure out what happened. Also the human mind forgets things so you have to take notes and evidence if you want to remember stuff. I barely remember what my penny looked like after one night and most trials can take up a to year or more to take place. I've learned a lot in that class about how forensics work. It is a very interesting class plus we get to watch CSI. I wish i could take this class all year but unfortunately I can not because I have to take biology but the good thing is that it is with the same teacher. Mrs. Nixon is my favorite teacher she is really nice and she is a great teacher and i look forward to her class every day..

Andrew Short

Andrew Short won his first career 450 supercross win in Seattle,
Washington. Short, who's from Smithville, Texas, has been racing in the
Supercross Class for nearly six years and hasn’t been able to win. It is really hard to win in the supercross class because it is the fastest 20 riders in the world.

Short turned pro in 2000, and by 2001 he had earned a ride with the Motoworld
Racing Suzuki support team. The first three years of his pro career
were not that good for him. But being the hard worker that he is Andrew started earning top twenty results, and in 2002  achieved twelfth overall in the West Coast Supercross Lites class. And fifteenth overall in the MX Lites class.

Andrew’s career soon turned into injury when he  ran into another rider's rear wheel as several riders knocked each other off as they were rolling down the start strait.  Andrew high sided
and the momentum of his body threw him over the bars and then he got
ran over by another rider. He visited the Medical unit and determined that his
shoulder dislocation was unlikely but the pain was too much to continue
racing for the night. Then later he wrecked and had to have surgery on both elbows. He also has a broken wrist and will have to have a cast, which will make him miss some
races.

Andrew short is a great rider in my opinion and he has a bright future ahead of him. He has earned one of the most prestigious awards in motocross racing. Now his next goal is the AMA fim world championship. He is a role model to me and I hope one day I can be as good as him!
