Algebra II

Algebra II

This week in algebra II we had our first test. I thought this test was going to be easy so I didn’t really pay it any attention. That’s how I normally treat school because I don't have to study. It has always been real easy for me I would make an a and not have to try or do my work but now that I'm in the college classes i have to actually do my work.

As we began the test I realized that I had forgotten the letters that describe what a number such as w is a whole number. But i made it through that part and I believe I had gotten them right. So i went on to the next problem which i had never seen in my life and the teacher swear she went over it but no one knew how to do it. So I skipped it and went on to the next problem. In this problem you had to find the square root of a -5 and then the opposite and the reciprocal. I think i also go that right.

Then on the back I had a few problems that I had to solve which were very easy except for one and it was an inequality. I graphed it but I'm not sure if i had done it right. Overall I don't think I done so well on my first algebra II test but I'm hoping that i might have gotten lucky and done good on it. If I don't my mom will be very displeased and I'll probably be grounded which isn't fun because I was grounded all last semester due to geometry because i made like an 82 every 6 weeks

Random blog

I like to race and i have a random blog so i'm going to tell you how to holeshot a race. The holeshot refers to the first person to the first corner in racing. The holeshot is the key to the race. If you are last to the first corner, but you’re the best rider you still might loose. So you want to be the first person to the first corner. So im going to tell you the way I do it so maby it will help you inprove your starts.

First I choose a good gate to start at. I like to be in the middle or the left side. That puts you closer to the first corner because most of the first corners are right turns, because it allows you to keep you right foot on the back break.

Second I pack down the dirt were im starting to help me get more traction. When it’s a concrete start I sweep my gate and make sure there isnt any dirt on it because it will make you spin.

Then I slide up so that im sitting on the gas tank so that the bike want flip. By the time you do all this they should have the 30 second card up. When it goes sideways it means the gate could drop anywhere between 5 and 15 seconds.

When the card goes sideways I put the bike into second gear by clicking uo on the gear shift once. Then you turn the throttle about three fourths of the way and wait for the gate to drop. While i'm waiting I watch the pen that holds the gate up because it has to move before the gate drops.

Then when the gate drops you drop the clutch and hold it wide open. During this I don’t let out of the throttle until I get to the first corner. Once you get there you want to use your front and back brakes. The front brake stops a lot faster then the back so if you use it you can stay in the gas longer. This will help you get a holeshot every time.

Something I read

After being trapped in Iran Betty decides she is going to have to take the hard way to get back home. The choice she had was to take a very long hash trip into another country and from there she can make her way to America. She was told it would take up to two months to get there. When she returned home she decided not to tell her daughter Mahtob because she didn't want to get her hopes up. After she decides to take that journey she goes back to the Embassy and they say they will do their best to help her make the tortuous journey. The Embassy then calls her transportation and they begin to process her. Then she goes back and hides Mahtob in the guy from the Embassy’s apartment. They stayed there for a day. Then they were directed to get in the car with these two guys and they drove for a few hours. After that they were put in another car with different people. They drove to a barn where they stayed the night outside. While there Betty discovers that some of her jewelry had been stolen but there wasn't anything she could do. Then they got stopped by the Iranian police and he looked threw the car but allowed them to pass. Then they were picked up by a jeep and they had to sit in the back where it was really cold because they were in the mountains. They later came upon some police who opened fire on the jeep but they drove away quick enough so that no one got shot. To make sure they didn't get caught they had to get out of the jeep and walk through the woods. While they were walking they met people with horses and rode the rest of the way to the border.

story we read in class

Scientists Discover New Cave Spider Species… with Claws!

Scientist found a new spider. Its really cool but it looks scary and dangerous. The spider has claw like hands that is used to catch its prey. The spider’s claws are like the staff of the grim reaper.

Trogloraptor is Latin for "cave robber,".  The spider is most likely not venomous to humans it captures prey by hanging from the ceiling and it clamps down on it. There not sure what it eats yet

There isn't really any known close relatives to this spider it is definitely one of a kind. Trogloraptor's has several ancient features, including respiratory system that sets these spiders apart. The researchers believe the Trogloraptor evolved from a normal spider and became its own branch 130 million years ago. This spider is considered a marvel due to its unique abilities and aperance.

Algebra II

I am taking algebra II this semester. My teacher is Ms. Waldrop. She is a very serious teacher. If you not paying attention she will get mad and make you pay attention. You don’t want to act tied in Ms. Waldrop’s class because she will make you stand. She also does not allow goofing off in her class. If you goof off in her class there are serious consequences. She is also very serious about getting your work done. The good thing about Ms. Waldrop is that she is there to help us, you can tell she isn't here just for a paycheck. One thing that I don't like is that she gives us homework every night. It’s not that I don't like doing it, it just seems like school takes up my whole day. I have to get up at 7 and get on the bus and come to school. Then around four I get on the bus and have to go home. I don't get home till about 5:30 which sucks because I live like 15 minutes away from the college. After doing all that i don’t feel like doing my homework but it does help me understand the stuff we learn in class. Ms. Waldrop is very understanding though and she often gives a just a few problems to do for homework. Another thing that is big with Ms. Waldrop is respect. While you're talking to her you must show respect such as saying yes and no ma’am. She also expects you to say please and thank you to everything. She is an overall great teacher who has already taught me many things including life lessons and lessons in algebra II.

My name is Brandon Scott Hargrave. I have one little sister who is four. I was born in Lincolnton and lived in Kings Mountain for most of my life. I went to east elementary school, then to Bessemer city middle school. I was a freshman at Bessemer city high school for one year because the Early College was on the Bessemer city campus. For my sophomore year they moved the school to Gaston college. I've lived with my step dad since I was four. I enjoy racing dirt bikes. I got my first dirt bike when I was two and a half. I started racing when I was four. I raced for about four years then my dad got mad and sold my dirt bike. So i didn’t ride for three years. Then my step dad bought me a dirt bike and started taking me racing.I’ve been racing ever since then. I also like to play xbox when i'm bored. My favorite game is gears of war 3. I’ve had three xbox’s because one of them over heated. My arcade xbox caught on fire because I was watching movies on it all day and it got too hot. My third xbox will hopefully be my last one because i’m tired of wasting so much money on xbox’s. My goal in life is to become a physical therapist. I think it is very interesting the way the body works and I want to be able to help people when they’re in need like I was when I broke bones.
