Something I read

After being trapped in Iran Betty decides she is going to have to take the hard way to get back home. The choice she had was to take a very long hash trip into another country and from there she can make her way to America. She was told it would take up to two months to get there. When she returned home she decided not to tell her daughter Mahtob because she didn't want to get her hopes up. After she decides to take that journey she goes back to the Embassy and they say they will do their best to help her make the tortuous journey. The Embassy then calls her transportation and they begin to process her. Then she goes back and hides Mahtob in the guy from the Embassy’s apartment. They stayed there for a day. Then they were directed to get in the car with these two guys and they drove for a few hours. After that they were put in another car with different people. They drove to a barn where they stayed the night outside. While there Betty discovers that some of her jewelry had been stolen but there wasn't anything she could do. Then they got stopped by the Iranian police and he looked threw the car but allowed them to pass. Then they were picked up by a jeep and they had to sit in the back where it was really cold because they were in the mountains. They later came upon some police who opened fire on the jeep but they drove away quick enough so that no one got shot. To make sure they didn't get caught they had to get out of the jeep and walk through the woods. While they were walking they met people with horses and rode the rest of the way to the border.
